History

Kantipur English High School (KEHS) has a proud legacy rooted in academic excellence and holistic education. Established in 1983 by Mrs. Subadra Shrestha, a visionary educationist inspired during her student years in Bangalore, India, the school was founded to provide quality education to students from diverse backgrounds, including marginalized communities within lower and middle-class populations.

Driven by a passion for knowledge and classical ideals, Mrs. Shrestha envisioned KEHS as a beacon of learning and character development in Nepal. The school’s name, Kantipur, reflects the historic identity of the Kathmandu Valley, symbolizing education, art, culture, and trade. Guided by these values, KEHS has fostered a nurturing environment for its students since its inception.

Starting with a modest student body, KEHS flourished under Mrs. Shrestha's leadership, steadily expanding its facilities and educational offerings. The school has consistently emphasized blending traditional educational values with modern teaching methodologies, offering a rigorous academic curriculum complemented by research projects, multimedia presentations, and enriching outdoor activities.

Over the years, KEHS has garnered acclaim for its academic achievements and emphasis on comprehensive character development. It has produced graduates who excel academically and contribute meaningfully to society. The school is equally celebrated for its vibrant extracurricular programs, which promote teamwork, creativity, and physical well-being.

Today, KEHS remains steadfast in its founding principles, preparing students to navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving world while instilling in them a strong sense of ethics, compassion, and responsibility. As a leading educational institution in Nepal, KEHS continues to nurture future leaders who embody both intellectual excellence and exemplary character.
